A Letter from the Cubmaster
Posted by admin |
Thank you for your interest in Pack 731. I consider it a privilege to be involved with the Boy Scouts of America; an organization that knows what it stands for – the character development and Spiritual Growth of young boys into strong leaders through fun and adventure.
Every Cub Scout Pack is a little bit different, each with its own characteristics and focus. At Pack 731 we are focused on Scouting Skills and Values While Having Fun. That means we like to have a good time while we “Do Our Best” to learn about the world around us. As parents we all want our boys to learn important life lessons, values they can pass onto their children and skills they can employ every day. At pack 731 we try hard to keep Scouting fun and interesting for the boys. If its fun they will continue with the program and learn great lessons, values and skills along the way.
As parents we have an obligation to our children to give them the best possible chance to succeed in life. With all the options available today we must make the hard decisions on which activity best equips our children for success. It is my hope that all parents will make it a priority to investigate the wide range of Boy Scout programs from Tiger Cubs through the Venturing program. I believe you will find that the programs offered through Boy Scouts of America will help your child be more successful and better prepared for any challenge that comes their way.
In my 35 years of experience with BSA, I have yet to meet a man who regrets his Scouting experience – however I have met many men who have expressed a deep regret because they either never joined Scouting or left the program early. If Pack 731 doesn’t match the needs of your child, please don’t give up on the Scouting program – it works!
Yours in Scouting,
Brian Taschenberger
