Flag Laying this Saturday
Posted by admin | Filed under Uncategorized
All Scouts are invited to join the flag laying ceremony at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, May 23. Scouts from all over the area – Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Daisies, Brownies, Girl Scouts, and their families – will post flags on veterans’ graves for Memorial Day. Come in full Scout uniform. The event opens at 8:00am with a flag ceremony, then participants will scatter to put up 19,000 flags in about an hour. This is truly an amazing sight.
The Crownsville Veterans Cemetery is located at 1122 Sunrise Beach Road in Crownsville. For more information plus a map, visit http://www.mdva.state.md.us/cemeteries/crownsville.html.

My father is buried at Crownsville Veterans Cemetary. I can't thank the scouts enough for their efforts to get the flags posted for Memorial Day. It was beautiful and moving to see on Memorial Day. What a fitting tribute those who sacrificed for our country. Thank you for your patriotism. As always, your efforts were noticed and were very appreciated by family members of the deceased.
